"Mac" has proved himself an outstanding improvement sire for the Lipizzan breed. He consistently passes on his elegant neck and lofty gaits regardless of the type of mare he's crossed with. The scores received in the biennial Lipizzan Evaluations with Dr. Jaromir Oulehla, retired Director of the Spanish Riding School and the Piber Stud Farm, of Mac's get and grand-get are testimony to the validity of this claim. Mac's ability to consistently produce offspring that are an improvement on their dams has allowed us to build a herd of quality horses in a relatively short period of time. During his 2003 visit, Dr. Oulehla asked how long we'd been breeding horses, and since our oldest colt and filly had just turned 6, I replied, "7 years." He was rather surprised and commented, "It usually takes 15-20 years to achieve this level of quality and consistency." Our original group of broodmares received evaluation scores averaging in the mid-70's. Now the average score of all our broodmares is 83.67% and all but three are Mac daughters or granddaughters. The average score for all of Mac's get to date is 82.61% and for grandget 82.99%, proving beyond a doubt the value of this stallion. It was one of his granddaughters who received the first "10" for "Head & Neck" that Dr. Oulehla had ever awarded in America. Mac's offspring have many more "10's" to their credit as well.
